Society of Illustrators Visit
The society of Illustrators aims to advance illustration as a field of art, to educate the public about its history and ongoing evolution via exhibits, talks, and educational programs, and to utilize the services of its members for the sake of the society at large. Julie Bell is a renowned fantasy and science fiction artist known for her dynamic and highly detailed paintings. My favorite one is the Liana Indigo painting, one of her artworks that features a captivating and intricate depiction of a female warrior with blue skin or a blue dress, surrounded by lush vegetation and wildlife. Regarding the tools used to create the painting, when looking at the painting description, you could be informed that the painting was developed using the tools known as oil painting. However, it is likely that Julie Bell used a combination of traditional and digital painting techniques to create the final artwork. Many contemporary artists use digital tools such as Photoshop or Procreate in conjunction with traditional mediums such as acrylic paint, watercolor, or oil paint to create their artworks. Throughout the exhibit, I was introduced to different renowned art pieces that used a variety of tools. Seeing this exhibition inspires me to make illustrations because it opens me to new forms of creativity. In addition, the workshop revealed a growth mindset, as you can create anything you think of to life. When the presenter was describing her role of being an illustrator, she discussed to be motivated to draw, one needs self-control and a schedule. Give your day some structure by rising at the same time each day, getting to work at the same time, setting little goals for yourself, and seeing them through. In conclusion, the visit to the "Society of Illustrators" was pretty entertaining and gave us an opportunity to learn different types of art, as well as construct our own.
